About
Today Computer Science and Information Technology have become prevalent throughout the globe. Instead of becoming speciality providers for the Computer Science and IT industry, our Department has chosen to offer Computer Applications as one of the subjects in combination with other subjects in the Arts and Science streams. We continue to emphasize the importance of computer science and its different aspects. Technology changes rapidly, especially in the field of computing, whereas the other science subjects, if it changes at all, do so much more gradually. Those who are clear and thorough about the fundamentals can adapt to rapid changes in technology relatively easily. The Department offers a collaborative environment where students, faculty, and staff work together to provide an environment to pursue the study of computing in its variety of forms. Computer science today interacts deeply with all areas of life, and this interdisciplinary nature is reflected in the work that we do, whether it be class assignments or campus projects. As a discipline, computer science is about far more than just computers: it is the systematic study of processes for solving problems.
