AIMS & OBJECTIVES OF  DEPARTMENT

•  To impart quality education in the subject of zoology as a basic science and its applied branches to the girl students.
•  For academic excellence and exposure, the students are motivated to participate in the seminars based on the curriculum
•  To inculcate value-based education and to promote students for self-employment through Aquaculture, Apiculture, Cattle, and Poultry farming.
•  To inculcate the spirit of resource conservation and love for nature.
•  To develop an aptitude towards science and nature.
•  Assess animal resources of the local area and document indigenous knowledge related to those.
•  To equip students with adequate practical skills that will enable them to function productively in society
•  To develop research aptitude and scientific advancement
•  Conducting educational field visits for practical exposure to the students

FUTURE  PLAN OF THE DEPARTMENT

• Expansion of department for which proposal and estimate of additional infrastructure has been submitted to higher authorities for sanction and approval.
• To establish a Zoological Museum.
• The department is planning to organize national seminars and conferences.
• Moreover, students will be made acquainted with the indigenous animals of the Kashmir valley.
• Ø Courses like Apiculture, Aquaculture, Poultry farming, Sericulture, and Aquarium fish keeping will be encouraged.
