I’m delighted to welcome you to the Department of Social Work, Faculty of Social Sciences Government Degree College for Women Pulwama. Social work as a subject at the U.G level was introduced in our college in the year 2016, the subject is affiliated with the University of Kashmir. The focus of the faculty is to prepare the students with the pioneering and refined theoretical aspects and to integrate theory into practice by designing appropriate intervention plans. A widespread theoretical and pragmatic framework is taught to the students to equip them with the professional skillset to enhance their capabilities for pursuing higher education and to meet the human resources requirement of civil and government services. The department is orienting the students for comprehensive personality development and in this regard organization of Seminars, symposiums, and lectures by the eminent Guest Faculties are conducted frequently to enhance the intellectual and leadership capabilities of the students.
